How much should you add to your measurements for an outside mount shade? Measure the width of the window opening. For windows without trim add 2-4” per side, for windows with trim measure to outer edges of trim. Measure the height of the window opening. For windows without trim add 4”, for windows with trim measure to the outer edges of trim.
